‘The Nightmare and The Ghost of a Flea’, The Crypt Gallery, London, 2024
“Imagine this being a real dream office. The kind of place you’d call in the middle of the night after a bad dream. Imagine there being someone answering that signal: The dream worker.”
The Nightmare and The Ghost of a Flea is a run-through of a script to an unfinished film. It’s also a reference to two paintings. The “film” is about an unknown department at BT (British Telecom) where a dream worker, also known as “The Operator” works. Although for most of the time she’s asleep, whilst her answering machine is harvesting others’ dream journeys.
Performance, video and installation as part of the exhibition ‘Lavender, Hibernation and Care’ curated by Yueh-Ning Lee
